As I had promised the summer newsletter comes in today, on the 1st of August 2010. The next one will be on the 15th of September. Till then, don’t forget to write to John, and in particular to let him share with you glimpses of the places where you spend your holidays!

How is John doing these days?
I received several letters from John in July. He complained he had not heard from his penfriends for a while. But it seems there are some problems with the mailroom, as of lately. For instance, John never received a letter I mailed in late June. So if you have written to John last month, he might have not received your letter. If you are writing simple letters, without postcards or pictures, consider sending them with Jpay, it seems much more reliable. At least he received all the letters I sent through Jpay.
It’s very hot in Texas and John is complaining about his fan, which does not work properly. He would like to buy a new one but it’s expensive. He also needs money to buy stamps and stationary, to make some phone calls to his family, and buy food and hygiene stuff. Any financial help you can provide him with would be much appreciated really. If you can send a little something for commissary, John would be very happy and thankful!
What’s new about his judicial procedure?
Nothing new. John is trying to get a transfer in Beaumont, near his family, again, thanks to a letter his Grandma’s doctor wrote about her health. He is also trying to get a visit with his brother Chris.
